Testing task: Navigate forwards to a checked radio button within a radio group

With JAWS in virtual cursor active mode, describe how JAWS behaves when performing task "Starting at the 'Regular crust' radio button, navigate to the 'Deep dish' radio button."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on the first radio button, and checks the second radio button.
  3. Press Alt+Delete to determine which cursor is active. If the PC cursor is active, press Escape to activate the virtual cursor.
  4. Starting at the 'Regular crust' radio button, navigate to the 'Deep dish' radio button.
  5. Using the following commands, Starting at the 'Regular crust' radio button, navigate to the 'Deep dish' radio button.
    • f (virtual cursor active)
    • a (virtual cursor active)
    • Down Arrow (virtual cursor active)

Success Criteria

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. Role 'radio button' is conveyed
  2. Name of the radio button, 'Deep dish', is conveyed
  3. State of the radio button, 'checked', is conveyed
  4. Position of the radio button, 2, is conveyed
  5. Number of radio buttons in the group, 3, is conveyed
